Varsity in championship of the CYC tourney tonight

Hello all,
We would love to have players and families from all levels come out and support the varsity tonight in the championship of the CYC tournament.  We are the defending champions of this classic St. Louis tournament and playing against our long time rivals Oakville.  The game is at SoccerPark in Fenton at 7:45.

Also, we are behind in the number of tables for the upcoming Trivia Night.  This is a really fun event and we need everyone's support.  Please help us out by putting a table together.  Players, you are also encouraged to put together a table with your friends both in and out of the soccer program.

Varsity wins tournament

Congrats to the varsity soccer team for its victories in the Webster Invitational last week.  The team won a solid victory on Saturday against Webster in the championship match.  In four games, the Flyers gave up zero goals and scored 10.  This week the varsity is in action in the CYC tournament with the first game scheduled for Tuesday night at 7:45 on field 5 at the SoccerPark.

Don't forget to sign up for our trivia night. We only have two weeks left before the event.

WC St. Louis U-15 openings

Chris Fuchs from WC St. Louis contacted me regarding his club and I told him that I would pass on information about openings on their current U15 squad.  This would apply to current freshman in our program.  They will be playing state cup this June as well as a full summer and fall of activity.  If you are interested in picking up a club team this might be a good fit for you.

Week of 4/16

The j.v. and varsity had a successful trip to Columbia on Friday night with both teams posting victories.  In terms of offensive movement, it was probably the varsity's best showing to date.  We looked quicker, worked harder and produced more opportunities that we have in recent games.

The j.v. has a strange and frustrating schedule for the next two weeks.  The girls are without games during this period.  We will continue to train hard during this time and attempt to provide some of the group with opportunites in freshman and varsity games.

The varsity is in action this week starting Wednesday in the Webster/Kirkwood Tournament.  All games are played in our pool at Kirkwood High School with games slated for Wed., Thurs, and Friday and hopefully a championship on Saturday.

The freshman have two games this week, going to Ursuline today and playing Oakville on Wednesday.

Don't forget about our Trivia Night on May 5.  Get your tables together and invite your friends.  It really is a "fun" fundraiser.

Updates for the week of 4/9

First in freshman soccer, a solid win for the freshman against Lafayette last Friday 1-0.  The score does not reflect the possession dominance and we were unlucky to not get a few more.  Freshman team is on the road this week with games at Hazelwood West on Monday and Marquette on Wednesday.

J.V. and Varsity are also on the road all week.  The two teams battle Marquette and Oakville on Tuesday and Thursday this week.  Both teams then travel to Columbia for matches against Hickman Friday night.  Contrary to past years, this will be a one night event, with a return trip to St. Louis that evening.  We will provide bus transportation to and from the event.  Players will be dismissed at 12:45 on Friday will the bus leaving by 1.  Games are at 5 and 6:30.  The j.v. continued its winning ways with a solid 4-0 victory against Rock Bridge on Saturday.  The varsity conceded a first half goal and despite a strong assault in the second half they couldn't climb back into the game and fell to Rock Bridge 0-1.

Mike Butz has sent out an email regarding our upcoming trivia night.  I will also be providing the girls a hard copy of this information this week.

Daily report for Tuesday 4/3

Overall, a successful Monday of games with all 3 levels in action.  On the freshman level, we travelled to Clayton where our girls were very successful in a 6-0 victory.  At home, the junior varsity totally dominated Mehlville with a 9-0 victory.  I was very impressed with the flow of the game and the possession.  Way to go j.v.!!  The varsity was held to a 0-0 tie under odd circumstances.  We were not able to turn on the lights to the field and the officials were forced to halt the game due to limited sight.  The varsity clearly had the better of the play in the second half with Mehlville twice having to clear off their line.  I don't remember a Mehlville shot on goal in the second half as the defense did an outstanding job of covering for each other.

Practice today for all 3 levels.  J.V. and Varsity in action Wednesday at Parkway South at 4:15 and 6.  Freshman in action on Friday at Lafayette.

You will be getting info about our fun and exciting Trivia Night this week.  Also, there are forms circulating for players and parents for spirit wear.  I wrapped up our coupon book sales and they were an amazing success.  23 girls sold enough books, 15, to earn a warm up jacket and another 13 sold enough to get the drawstring bag.  Those should be in late next week.

Today 3/2 in Lindbergh soccer

Hope everyone had a great weekend and ready to get back into the swing with our teams.  All 3 levels are in action today.  Varsity and J.V. are at home with games at 4 and 6.  The freshman travel to Clayton for a 4 p.m. game.  Several people have inquired about needing schedules and rosters.  Coaches on all levels have passed them out and if you need additional copies please check with the coach on that level to get some more.  We will have copies of the varsity/j.v. roster at our first home games today for distribution.
